Biggest Morning Tea raises $1,199 for Cancer Council

This May our community showed up and tipped their hats and cups for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, raising $1,199.20 for the Cancer Council, with donations still coming in at the time of writing.

Australia's Biggest Morning Tea is held each year in support of the Cancer Council, where funds raised go towards cancer research and support services for people and families affected by the disease. This year our centre event drew strong support from across the local business community. More than a dozen Port Lincoln businesses donated raffle prizes and food, including L'Anse French Café and Croissanterie, The Beach Bakery, Boston Bean Coffee Company, TNT's Cafe, The Great Northern Hotel, Port Lincoln Hotel, Mistique On Eyre, Bay Beauty and Spa, West Coast Distilling Co, Lincoln Surf, EP Surf, SportsPower Port Lincoln, and the Port Lincoln Style Bar. Their contributions filled the room with fresh pastries, coffee, and prize packs that reflected the best of what the town has to offer. Behind the scenes, the PLLC team handled everything from promotion and decorating to brewing coffees, running games, and packing down at the end of the day.

Participants brought homemade treats, fresh flowers, and generous donations on the day. The Lucky Teapot and Pin the Strawberry on the Cupcake games kept the mood light while drawing attention to the cause. For a regional centre, an event like this does more than raise money; it puts a community health cause on the local agenda and connects residents with the services that matters to them.
